Irene (Deslaurier) MAYHEW, R.N. passed gently into the night July 8 2019, in her 86th year, after a lengthy illness, with her typical grace & dignity.
Irene was widowed when her beloved Harry passed away in 2007.
She is survived by 1 brother, Earl Deslaurier, New Brunswick, and was predeceased by her parents Mary and John Deslaurier, her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bill Miller, and brother and sister-law Duncan and Gloria Deslaurier; and a daughter-in-law, Christina.
Left to mourn their Mom are her children and their spouses Bruce and Mary Mayhew, Renfrew; Diana and Peter Renaud, Ottawa; Brent and Angela Mayhew, Orillia; and Barry and Jacqueline Mayhew, Johnstown.
Irene is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and their spouses; Zach and Paige Mayhew; Louise Mayhew and Kevin Couto, Lindsay, Michael and Derek Renaud, Peter and Robert Mayhew (mother Christina Mayhew), and Jared (Libby) and Justine Mayhew. Also left to mourn is her step-granddaughter Cheryl Rekker (mother Angela Mayhew).
Her 4 great grandchildren were blessed to have had their "Pretty Grandma" to shower them with her love. Malakai & Sloane Mayhew (Zach & Paige); Alexander (Lindsay Renaud); Aria Grace (Louise & Kevin). Also left to miss their step-great grandmother are Angela & Brent's grandchildren Tobias and Elliot Rekker.
The family would like to express their unending gratitude to Dr. Pinard for his care of our Mom; CCAC for their ongoing assistance, and last, but not least the staff of Groves Park Lodge, who cared for Mom like she was family.
Friends may call at Zohr Family Funeral Home, 22 Raglan Street South Renfrew, on Friday from 4-8pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday July 13, 2019 at 11am with interment to follow at Goshen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Renfrew, or the Groves park Lodge Auxiliary.
