At age 89 years, died March 14, 1981 at Vancouver General Hospital due to acute heart failure with history of arteriosclerotic heart disease. Had fractured ribs last 2 months. Forty hours prior to death Jane fell down hospital steps sustaining fractured hip. Buried March 18, 1981 at Cedar Valley Memorial Cemetery, Nanaimo.
