He was married to Elizabeth Calder, to this union was born seven children, six of whom are still living. Mrs. Brown passed away about 19 yrs ago. Mr. Brown then married Miss Elsie Meldrum who died at Hull in 1887. By this marriage there were born two children. On account of the family record not being accessable, we are not able to give as minute a statement as might be desired by the friends of the deceased. Mr. Brown came to this state in 1881 and settled in Sioux County on the Cavanaugh homestead northeast of Hull, where he remained until three years ago when he retired from active farm work and became a resident of Hull. He was a man of few words; faithful to his friends and was loved and respected by them, as was evidenced by the large attendance at his funeral of those who knew him at his home in Canada, and those acquainted with him in his time in Sioux County.
The funeral was in the M.E. Church on Monday afternoon. He was laid to rest in Hope Cemetery Hull.
