Spencer Winnifeld Brooks' World War One Story!

Spencer Winnifeld Brooks was born July 16, 1895 in Bruce Township, Bruce County, Ontario the son of Charles Wellington and Ida May (George) Brooks. Spencer had two Brothers, Lorne Cleveland and Clifton Steele and one sister Minnie Vernetta Brooks.

He was drafted June 11, 1918 into 12 M.D. 1st Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment. His draft shows him as one year younger, however his Ontario Birth record is 1895. He was discharged in 1919.

His service record shows that he was never sent overseas and thus no medals were issued. He was discharged on February 8, 1919.

In 1921 he married May Victoria Wilson.

He passed away October 12, 1959 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
